They say that a good chef keeps his kitchen clean. The very nature of software means developers aren’t confined as much to the same concept. Unlike the relatively permanent, static location of an established kitchen, computer configurations and workspaces are ever changing. It should come as no surprise that a good developer then, should have a setup (both physical and virtual) that is adept to change. Flexibility beats routine, in my opinion.
So why did I make a reference to software dotfiles in my online tag? No profound reason. I just enjoy keeping my digital kitchen clean. It’s a vibe.
