At some point in the past 5 years I decided that I really like turtles. A good friend of mine and a family member likes turtles, so it’s very possible they rubbed off on me. My friends used to tell me I reminded them of a sloth, because in personal settings I tend to talk slowly. Anyhow, at some point, for whatever set of reasons, turtles kind of become my brand animal, and I even have a very casual turtle trinket collection now.
In 2025 I began my journey as a full-time entrepreneur. This journey, needless to say, taught me more than I could have imagined, even in a short year. One major lesson that I learned was that slow and steady wins the race. I look back even just a year ago, when I would obsess over “tight timings”. I had to finish certain marketing efforts by X date. I had to perfect Y feature of my service. I had to grind Z hours of progress on my product.
To be honest, failures and lack of results forced me to recognize that I viewed the world in such short timelines. A line from a recent sermon stuck with me - “We think in months, but God thinks in generations.”
