I’ve always enjoyed writing. I journal regularly, and used to blog back in the day. One of my goals this year was to start writing pieces again. One reason is that it’s fun. Another is that I find disorganized thoughts very troubling. Writing often helps, so long as I keep it simple. Currently I write in the following forms:
- A daily journal in Obsidian for unstructured, fleeting thoughts.
- My paper journal for weighty, faith-based matters.
- A scratchpad file in Obsidian short term notes.
- And now, this blog.
This blog will primarily be for myself to remind myself of life lessons and decisions I’ve made. In fact, that’s the primary goal of this entire site. I’ve made a lot of portfolio websites since learning programming in college. They were, for good reason, with employers as the intended audience. Now that I’m self-employed, I suppose I’m utilizing this site to communicate my personal brand to… anyone. Practically I’m viewing this site as a sort of long-term whiteboard, where I put organized thoughts that can help me stay focused.
